Full Job Description Human Resources Manager (Onsite – Minneapolis, MN)
Koehler & Dramm is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead and execute all aspects of the HR function in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for employee relations, compliance, recruiting, payroll, benefits, and supporting a strong workplace culture.
This position serves as both a strategic partner and operational leader, working closely with management while also handling day-to-day HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Manage daily HR operations to ensure efficiency and compliance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and issue resolution
- Maintain accurate and compliant personnel records
- Promote a positive employee experience
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Partner with managers on employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
- Provide coaching and guidance on performance management and employee development
- Support performance reviews and implement performance improvement plans
- Foster a culture of accountability and engagement
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Administer PFML, workers’ compensation, and other leave programs
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures
- Represent the company in audits, investigations, and hearings
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruiting across all departments
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning
- Conduct onboarding and new hire orientation
- Manage temporary labor staffing and related invoicing
Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
- Process and oversee bi-weekly payroll
- Maintain payroll records and respond to employee inquiries
- Administer benefits, including 401(k) and vendor coordination
- Analyze and recommend improvements to compensation and benefits programs
Engagement & Culture
- Plan and coordinate employee events and engagement initiatives
- Support employee retention and morale efforts
- Help build a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
Leadership & Administration
- Participate in management meetings and provide HR insight
- Supervise administrative staff as needed
- Manage vendor relationships and reconcile invoices
- Recommend improvements to HR processes and policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience
- Minimum 1 year of payroll experience
- Experience with PFML, workers’ compensation, and compliance
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR)
- Leadership experience
- Experience in a fast-paced or warehouse environment
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
