We’re looking for a driven Sheet Metal Estimator to support large-scale commercial mechanical projects from concept through award. This role is critical to building accurate, competitive bids and partnering with operations to win and deliver high-value work.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare detailed takeoffs and cost estimates for sheet metal systems (ductwork, HVAC, specialty systems) on complex commercial projects
- Analyze drawings, specs, and addenda to identify scope, risks, and value engineering opportunities
- Solicit and level subcontractor/vendor quotes; build strong supplier relationships
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with project goals and market conditions
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and preconstruction teams to ensure scope clarity and smooth handoffs
- Maintain estimate documentation, assumptions, and historical cost data
- 3 years of estimating experience in commercial mechanical/sheet metal projects
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, duct fabrication/installation, and industry standards
- Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam, OST, Trimble, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents with precision
- Sharp analytical skills and attention to detail—no gaps, no surprises
- Clear communication and a team-first mindset
