Koch Finishing Systems is seeking a Senior Designer to lead the design and development of thermal and acoustic panel systems used in industrial finishing environments. This role is responsible for producing layouts, detailed shop drawings, and flat patterns for fabrication, while managing multiple projects and collaborating closely with internal teams, architects, and customers throughout the approval process.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop Designers via project assignments and mentoring
- Check Thermal and Acoustical designs prior to their release for manufacturing
- Create layouts, detailed shop drawings, and fabrication sketches for thermal and acoustic panel systems
- Develop accurate flat patterns for manufacturing and production
- Design components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Interpret architectural drawings, project specifications, and customer requirements
- Collaborate with the Sales and Estimating team to develop appropriate solutions and to understand the scope of proposed work
- Work directly with project managers to refine designs and gain approvals
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Department to support their Requests for Information
- Manage multiple active projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule commitments
- Revise and update drawings based on customer feedback and internal review
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, accurate, and aligned with production capabilities
- Maintain organized documentation and adhere to company drafting standards
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience creating layouts, shop drawings, and fabrication-ready designs
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience working with fabricated sheet metal products
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, with experience interacting with customers or external partners
- Experience developing and mentoring other designers
- Experience with insulated metal panel systems or similar products
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor or similar
- Understanding of flat pattern development and sheet metal fabrication processes
- Experience working through customer approval cycles and revisions
- Work on custom-engineered systems used in industrial applications
