Fire Alarm Foreman – Industrial Construction

Position Overview

Koala Design & Build LLC is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Foreman for a large industrial construction project in Phoenix. Reporting to the Fire Alarm Superintendent, you will lead an installation crew, organize daily work, and maintain safe, productive, and accurate installations.

This is a hands on field leadership position for someone who can translate drawings and daily priorities into clear crew assignments. You will work alongside technicians and installers, resolve routine installation issues, and communicate manpower, material, and coordination needs to the Superintendent. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of fire alarm technicians, installers, and helpers. Assign daily tasks and monitor progress against the Superintendent’s schedule.
• Perform and oversee installation of conduit, raceways, supports, cabling, devices, terminations, and labeling within the assigned scope.
• Read approved drawings, specifications, and installation details. Identify conflicts and request clarification before proceeding with affected work.
• Confirm that materials, tools, equipment, and work areas are ready for planned activities.
• Check installation quality and correct deficiencies before inspections or testing.
• Conduct daily safety discussions and enforce site requirements, proper equipment use, and housekeeping.
• Coordinate work within assigned areas with other trades and elevate access or sequencing conflicts to the Superintendent.
• Track crew hours, installed quantities, material needs, and field changes. Maintain accurate redlines and daily progress updates.
• Support continuity checks, troubleshooting, pretesting, inspections, acceptance testing, punch work, and turnover under the direction of the Superintendent and system specialists.
• Train less experienced crew members and maintain clear expectations for workmanship, attendance, and productivity.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of commercial or industrial fire alarm installation experience.
• At least two years as a Foreman, Lead Technician, or comparable crew leader with responsibility for daily installation work.
• Substantial hands on experience with fire alarm cabling, devices, terminations, labeling, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read construction drawings and direct a crew through installation requirements.
• Working knowledge of applicable NFPA 72 and NEC requirements.
• Experience maintaining safe work practices and coordinating installations with other trades.
• Clear communication, dependable attendance, and the ability to work on site in Phoenix throughout the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on semiconductor, manufacturing, data center, healthcare, or other complex commercial and industrial projects.
• NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II or higher.
• OSHA 30 training and relevant lift or equipment qualifications.
• Experience with formal GC safety procedures, installation inspections, testing documentation, and project closeout.

Experienced Lead Technicians who have already directed crews and taken responsibility for installation quality and progress are encouraged to apply.

Assignment and Compensation

Compensation will reflect your fire alarm experience, crew leadership, and project background. Any agreed travel or relocation assistance will be documented before acceptance. Employer-sponsored health insurance and a 401(k) plan are not currently offered.
