Summary:
As a Special Education Teacher at Knowledge Road, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. This position is essential in helping us achieve our mission of providing high-quality education tailored to each student's unique requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instructional services to students with disabilities, adhering to their individual needs and learning objectives.
- Implement and adhere to the goals and recommendations outlined in Individualized Education Services Plan (IESPs), ensuring compliance without the responsibility of drafting these documents. Participate in annual IESP meetings as required.
- Ensure the fulfillment of students' weekly mandates as specified in their IESPs.
- Develop and maintain an intervention schedule that aligns with the students' current academic timetable.
- Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports, and maintain consistent bi-weekly communication with families to provide updates on student progress.
- Employ a diverse array of teaching techniques and strategies to accommodate various learning styles and enhance educational outcomes.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional methods to achieve desired learning results.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student performance in our industry specific app, ensuring regular communication with parents and school staff to support student development.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal special education regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an NYS Students with Disabilities Certificate (BC-2nd, 1st-6th, 7th-12 or All Grades) or an NYS Literacy Specialist Certificate.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience.
- Proficiency in technology.
- Must not have been employed by NYC DOE within the last 12 months.
- Experience teaching Math & ELA.
- Reliable transportation
Additional Information:
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position, and as such, there is no benefits package.
