- Act as the liaison between the provider/biller, facility medical office, Bureau of Health Services, and Accounts Payable.
- Review and process patient charges by reviewing invoices/bills containing Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes.
- Ensure that the medical services provided regarding agreed upon fee schedules. Adjust fees on invoices when needed.
- Work closely with the Bureau of Health Services to review and verify documentation regarding billed medical services.
- Manage agreements with providers regarding agreed upon fee schedules.
- Check bills to confirm that the correct, agreed upon fee schedule was applied.
- Process incoming/outgoing correspondence related to vendor invoices and billing.
- Sort and deliver invoices/bills to designated personnel.Qualifications:
- Certification as a medical coder or training/courses in medical coding, billing, and understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience with NYS Medicaid coding and billing.
- Experience in healthcare, medical coding, medical billing, and customer service.
- Strong working knowledge of medical coding and billing processes.
- Working closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with coding standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain organized and detail-oriented while managing multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and SFS software.
