Project/Program:
OREPA Data Warehouse/Programmer Expert.
This request is for a Programmer to work in the OCFS Office of Research, Evaluation and Performance Analytics (OREPA) Data Warehouse (DW) unit. Incumbent will elicit, analyze, design, and document business and technical requirements for Child Welfare reporting and data visualizations intended for OCFS staff, Local Districts, Voluntary Agencies, and the public. Reporting includes Child Protective Services, Federal Financial Reporting, Child Care Assistance Block Grants, Family First, KPIs, and related dashboards to support operational and data quality efforts.

Day-to-day Tasks
Tasks that this position will be handling during the period the position is being requested:
- Elicit and collect necessary information and create business and technical requirements documents
- Write SQL scripts to extract and analyze child welfare data to determine data quality.
- Extract data to investigate issues associated with reporting and dashboard development
- Develop and maintain COGNOS reports, data sets/modules and dashboards
- Develop and maintain Tableau data sets and dashboards
- Configure and maintain Tableau site environment, user accounts and permissions, and data refresh schedules.

Requested Qualifications
- 84 Months of Experience in business requirement gathering, analysis and logical design; understanding and translating complex issues both in oral and written communication
- 84 Months of Experience in creating and modifying Tableau Dashboards and Data Sets.
- 84 Months of Experience in creating and modifying Framework Manager models and reports using COGNOS tools
- 84 Months of Experience in using SQL for analysis and reporting including conditional formatting and joining multiple queries
- 84 Months of Experience testing reports, analytics, troubleshooting, problem solving, documenting and presenting complex data challenges to stakeholders
- 84 Months of Experience working in social services or related fields
- Bachelor’s Degree.
