Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Anticipated Secondary School Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will support students in their academic, career, social, and emotional development while fostering a safe and supportive school environment. The counselor will work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community partners to promote student success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Assist students with academic planning, career exploration, and post-secondary readiness.s
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside agencies to support student success.
- Monitor student progress and provide interventions as needed
- Support crisis intervention and student wellness initiatives
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams, professional development, and district initiatives
- Promote a positive and inclusive school climate
Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania School Counselor Certification Required
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with secondary students preferred
- Knowledge of academic planning, career readiness, and student support services
- Must obtain necessary clearances, including PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal Background, FBI Fingerprint clearances, Mandated Reporter Training, and Suicide Prevention Training.
