JCDS seeks a warm, skilled, and highly organized School Nurse to care for our K8 students and contribute to the health and wellness of our school community. You will deliver direct care to students, manage health records, administer medications, and support school health systems and safety protocols. This role is a vital part of the student support team, partnering with families, educators, and administrators to ensure a safe, inclusive, and healthy school environment.Key Responsibilities
- Provide treatment and assessment for minor injuries and illnesses that occur during school hours.
- Administer prescription medications according to physician and parent instructions.
- Communicate with parents when students are ill, injured, or require follow-up.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records using Magnus Health and Veracross systems.
- Obtain and maintain mandatory training and medication administration certificates from state health authorities.
- Collect and organize student health documentation before the start of the school year.
- Respond to medical emergencies, administer first aid and CPR as needed, and coordinate with emergency services when needed
- Collaborate with the Health and Wellness Team to establish and update school illness and injury policies, and support health education and programming, especially in grades 5-8.
- Participate in school health and safety planning, including response to allergic reactions, injuries, and infectious diseases.Skills & Attributes

- Registered Nurse (RN)
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- 12 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatric or school settings

- Salary is $28,000 - $32,000 per year, commensurate with experience
- You will report to the Head of School
- Start date is August 20, 2025 with a few days in July/August to prepare (summer work is compensated hourly)
