What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse (Clearway School) position at Clearway School Inc?
Clearway School (a small, private special education school for learning-disabled middle and high school students) has an opening for part time nurse (8-10 hours per month). The hours are flexible. The school nurse works collaboratively with the administration to provide consultation around student medical needs. This position is paid hourly but in addition will receive $180/month for on-call services during school hours.

- Valid certification as a School Nurse in Massachusetts, in accordance with local and state regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Current RN license in Massachusetts.
- Strong knowledge of child health issues, immunization requirements, and medication administration protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and healthcare providers.
- Completion of DPH requirements for Massachusetts school nurses (6.5 hours of training paid by Clearway School).
- Educating staff on student’s health conditions.
- Conducting health screenings and assessments to identify health concerns and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Managing students' medication administration and maintaining accurate records.
- Developing individualized health care plans (IHCPs) for students with complex medical needs.
- Providing training and education to school staff on health-related topics, including asthma management, diabetes care, seizure precautions, epipen training and medication administration.
- Collaborating with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to coordinate services and support students' health needs in the school setting.
- Be on call (available by phone) during school hours for staff to consult regarding urgent student medical needs.
Salary : $80 - $95
