Knight Barry Title is seeking a reliable Administrative/Closing Assistant in Minocqua, WI! Previous experience working at a mortgage company or real estate office is a plus!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives and screens telephone callers or visitors. Gives information to callers; assists them in determining proper person/department to contact; takes messages as appropriate. Assists visitors as necessary.
- Performs routine but varied clerical duties which may include any of the following: sorting and distributes incoming mail; preparing outgoing mail and/or overnight mail; typing, scanning; posts information to records.
- May complete mail and e-recordings for residential department within a timely manner.
- Completes escrow files with appropriate information, obtains necessary information from parties involved in transaction, prepares closing documents and transmits escrow instructions to parties involved.
- Creates ledgers, cuts checks, initiates wires according to closing instructions.
- Assists customers by providing general information on company escrow services, procedures and status of cases.
- Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, entering orders, scanning files and other general office duties.
- May assist with conducting closings of limited complexity.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the purpose and use of title insurance and related services; of the purpose and terminology of legal instruments involved in escrow transactions; and in the insuring of title to real property.
- Ability to determine and prepare the necessary forms to complete escrow transactions; to type forms accurately; to follow instructions; to make arithmetic computations; to meet and deal with the public effectively.
- Analytical ability sufficient to perform varied tasks of limited complexity guided by general company escrow procedures and escrow supervisor instructions.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and to use common office suite software, such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, in person and by telephone.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSING
- High school graduation/equivalent required with one year administrative experience preferred.
