Overview

CLINICAL DIETITIAN

We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian , also referred to as a Registered Dietitian . The Registered Dietitian (RD) in our hospital designs and implements nutrition care plans for patients, tailoring diets to medical needs. Clinical Dietitian’s assess nutritional status, monitor progress, educate patients and families, collaborate with healthcare teams, and ensure dietary staff prepares meals that meet safety and health standards. The Registered Dietitian’s goal is to improve patient outcomes through effective nutrition management.

Knapp Medical Center is an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas. With 227 beds, the community hospital specializes in emergency care, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, wound care, surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, critical care, and interventional radiology. Knapp serves as the only acute care hospital in the Mid-Valley area, as well as Weslaco's only Level III Trauma Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and Level II Newborn Nursery. Responsibilities

Provides appropriate patient nutritional care. Assesses the nutritional status of patients, formulates a care plan, coordinates its implementation, and evaluates its impact and effectiveness. Provides nutrition education to patients/families. Approves supplements as appropriate and assists in the development of a hospital formulary appropriate to the patient population.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Registered Dietitian Required
  • Licensed Dietitian (TX)
  • One year healthcare experience desirable.
