AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/27/2026
Full Time

Location: Dallas-Ft. Worth

KMM is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead and scale our procurement operations within the telecommunications and network infrastructure sector. This role carries direct responsibility for $325M in annual procurement spend — managing supplier strategy, OEM relationships, inventory optimization, and demand planning to support KMM's continued growth.

A critical component of this role is building and managing direct procurement channels with OEM partners, reducing reliance on intermediaries, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring supply chain reliability. The Director will negotiate pricing and availability directly with OEM partners and develop long-term sourcing strategies aligned with KMM's business goals.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in procurement and OEM relationship management — whether from telecommunications, network infrastructure, utilities, or adjacent industries with comparable supply chain complexity. Strong familiarity with telecommunications product categories (copper cable, fiber optic cable, and general merchandise) is preferred.

Core Accountabilities

  • Procurement Strategy & Supplier Management

Own KMM's procurement function across all product categories — copper cable, fiber optic cable, and telecom minor materials. Drive year-over-year cost savings through competitive sourcing, contract renegotiation, and process efficiency. Build and maintain direct OEM relationships, negotiate pricing and availability, and manage RFQs to secure favorable terms. Establish and maintain procurement policies and performance benchmarks to support ISO 9001 certification.

  • Manage $325M in annual procurement spend
  • Source and negotiate directly with OEMs and strategic suppliers
  • Serve as primary point of contact for key supplier relationships
  • Identify new vendor opportunities and evaluate supplier performance
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization

Lead inventory strategy across core product categories to balance cost efficiency with service level requirements. Improve working capital efficiency through inventory optimization, reduction of slow/no-move items, and disciplined scrap management. Ensure data integrity across ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and item setup processes.

  • Implement inventory optimization practices across copper, fiber, and telecom materials
  • Drive improvement in inventory turns through active management of excess and obsolete stock
  • Ensure accurate item setup and data integrity across systems
  • Identify opportunities to reduce carrying costs
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting

Own demand and supply planning processes aligned with sales forecasts and business goals. Develop supply plans that meet customer SLAs while minimizing excess inventory. Build and refine forecasting models using advanced Excel modeling and data analysis. Provide regular performance reporting to senior leadership including KPIs, savings achievements, and supply risk dashboards.

  • Manage forecasting models to improve accuracy and reliability
  • Monitor and report on forecast accuracy metrics(MAPE, bias, variance)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, finance, customer service, and operations
  • Develop supply plans to meet customer SLAs while minimizing excess inventory
  • Team & Operational Leadership

Set performance benchmarks, lead cross-functional procurement initiatives, and build the processes and systems to support KMM's growth. Travel up to 20% for supplier visits, OEM negotiations, industry events, and site operations support.
