Falmouth or Bangor, ME
Penobscot General Contractors is seeking a Superintendent to join our team, to be based out of either our Falmouth or Bangor office. This role is responsible for oversight and management of all subcontractors and site coordination, ensuring successful delivery aligned with project goals, budget, schedule, and a strong commitment to safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience
- OSHA 30 Safety Certification
- Ability to read and interpret Blueprints
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of job costing and scheduling software (Procore experience preferred)
- Field experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure each activity onsite is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with PGC’s safety policies and industry standards
- Set up and maintain an organized job site
- Develop and proactively manage schedules/look ahead schedules to ensure activities take place on or ahead of schedule
- Provide overall project site coordination and supervision of day-to-day activities to ensure work is completed in the correct sequence and in an efficient manner
- Manage all required inspections
- Prepare and maintain paperwork including field reports, daily logs, safety inspections, schedule updates, and quality control reports
- Complete daily inspections of the site to ensure compliance with construction documents and quality standards
- Develop and maintain successful relationships with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and other team members
- Work with the Project Manager to coordinate procurement of materials and communication with subcontractors
- Serve as the point of contact for all onsite subcontractor supervisors
- Schedule subcontractors onsite as required to meet the project schedule
- Work through constructability issues in the field to provide solutions to the project team
- Provide direction to subcontractors as required
