Auburn Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team in Auburn, Maine. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys financial reporting, account reconciliation, process improvement, and working collaboratively across departments in a growing manufacturing environment.

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position also serves as a backup resource for Accounts Payable and Purchasing functions, providing a diverse and engaging accounting role.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred, or Associate's Degree with equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to deta

Responsibilities and Scope:

• Maintain accurate general ledger records and accounting transactions
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Assist with payroll processing and related accounting entries
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
• Generate reports and manage transactions within NetSuite and other accounting systems
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, including invoice processing and check runs
• Review expense reports, company credit card activity, and supporting documentation for accuracy
