Auburn Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team in Auburn, Maine. Job Summary
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position also serves as a backup resource for Accounts Payable and Purchasing functions, providing a diverse and engaging accounting role.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred, or Associate's Degree with equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to deta
Responsibilities and Scope:
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and accounting transactions
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Assist with payroll processing and related accounting entries
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- Generate reports and manage transactions within NetSuite and other accounting systems
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, including invoice processing and check runs
- Review expense reports, company credit card activity, and supporting documentation for accuracy
