Part-Time Human Resources Generalist
South Portland, Maine (hybrid flexibility)
Chest Medicine Associates is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations and provide support to both the management team and executive leadership. We specialize in Critical Care, Pulmonary, and Sleep Medicine, and are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced, healthcare environment.
This is a part-time role (approximately 24 hours per week) with a generally flexible schedule. Currently, this is a hybrid position with one to two half-days per week expected on-site and the expectation that an increased proportion of on-site time may be required in the future.
\n- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in Human Resources, ideally within the healthcare sector.
- Familiarity with employment law and government compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with HR module for ADP payroll system is desirable.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve issues in line with company standards and procedures.
- Ability to work onsite one to two half-days per week with more onsite time potentially required in the future.

- Advertise open positions, conduct screenings, verify licensure, coordinate interviews, coordinate background checks, prepare offer letters, and ensure completion of onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Administer employee benefit programs; coordinate with insurance brokers and retirement plan representatives; coordinate the open enrollment process.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other regulations.
- Address employee relations issues, investigate complaints, and respond to accommodation requests.
- Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
- Maintain electronic and confidential HR recordsof employees.
- Collaborate with management team,finance/payroll, executive leadership,consultants, and legal counsel as required.
- Provide backup support for payroll processing.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
