Job Summary
The Shipping Representative is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, and shipping domestic and international orders while ensuring products are protected during transit and shipped in accordance with company and customer requirements. This role verifies shipment accuracy, maintains shipping records, coordinates with carriers, and supports a safe, organized, and efficient shipping operation.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, and secure products to prevent damage during shipment.
- Verify outgoing shipments by comparing contents against packing slips, manifests, invoices, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Process and document shipment information, including tracking numbers, in SAP.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) to schedule pickups and ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare international shipments, including customs documentation, in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Process hazardous material (HazMat), domestic, international, daily, and weekly shipments in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize SAP and Salesforce to process shipments, print shipping documentation, and reference RMA (Return Material Authorization) and RGA (Return Goods Authorization) information.
- Receive inbound shipments and verify contents against purchase orders, RMAs, and RGAs.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Assist with product sterilization activities and collaborate with the Decontamination team to ensure products are properly processed before shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Monitor shipping supply inventory and order replenishment supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping processes and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, distribution, or a related environment preferred.
- Experience with domestic and international shipping processes preferred.
- Experience working with courier services such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience using SAP preferred but not required.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, customs requirements, and carrier procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages in accordance with company safety guidelines.
