We are currently seeking a Production Assistant to fill a new opening!
The Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily administrative and operational activities of the yogurt production department. This position works closely with the Yogurt Procurement Specialist, Yogurt Production Scheduler, production employees, and shipping personnel to ensure accurate production data, scheduling, inventory tracking, and material usage information. The Production Assistant helps maintain accurate records, supports production scheduling activities, and assists with identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure efficient department operations.
Shift: 8:00am until done, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
Job Duties:
- Assists with verifying production orders, related materials, and production information to ensure accuracy and completion.
- Performs data entry and maintenance within the ERP system, identifies discrepancies, and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Compiles, posts, summarizes, maintains, and files a variety of production, purchasing, and inventory records, reports, correspondence, and other documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of production schedules based on customer orders and production requirements, serving as backup to the Yogurt Production Scheduler as needed.
- Supports the determination and tracking of milk and ingredient requirements for production schedules.
- Communicates production schedules, order requirements, and related information with yogurt make and packaging departments to support efficient operations.
- Works closely with shipping personnel and other departments to identify, investigate, and correct production or inventory-related errors.
- Verifies production and consumption data to ensure accurate reporting, inventory control, and operational records.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of required production documentation and administrative records.
- Maintains confidentiality of department information and performs duties in a professional and organized manner.
- Follows all established company policies, food safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Management.
- Strong mathematical aptitude required, including the ability to perform calculations accurately and analyze production-related data.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, production processes, and production scheduling principles preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems and related business software is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including advanced skills in Excel and working knowledge of Outlook and Word.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, solve problems, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees and departments throughout the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support production and business objectives.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in an organized and timely manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.
