Job Description
The Hospice Physician provides medical oversight and clinical leadership for hospice patients, ensuring care aligns with patient goals, comfort, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospice physician services in accordance with CMS, state, and hospice regulations
- Conduct admissions, recertifications, and required face‑to‑face encounters
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (RN, social work, spiritual care, case management)
- Manage pain and symptom control for terminally ill patients
- Provide guidance on goals of care and advance care planning
- Communicate with patients, families, attending physicians, and care partners
- Complete timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
- Support quality improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- MD with active, unrestricted Washington State medical license
- Board‑certified or board‑eligible (Hospice & Palliative Medicine preferred)
- Experience in hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, or internal medicine
- DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

Schedule & Compensation
