Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during procedures, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and maintained to the highest standards. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, patient care, and aseptic techniques. The Surgical Technician will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing suturing as needed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.
- Collect and document data related to patient care and surgical outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various departments including emergency medicine, critical care, pediatrics, and ambulatory surgery centers.
- Participate in the training of new staff members and contribute to ongoing education regarding hospital policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough analysis of surgical procedures to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
Experience
- Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine, acute care settings, critical care environments, or PICU is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical-surgical nursing practices with an emphasis on patient care and anatomy knowledge.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, vital signs monitoring, and infection control practices is essential.
- Experience using Epic or other EMR/EHR systems for managing medical records is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations quickly and effectively respond to emergencies as they arise. Candidates who possess these skills will thrive in our collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality surgical care to our patients.

Pay: $50.00 - $54.00 per hour
