Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide specialised mental health care to patients, supporting their recovery and well-being. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care in a safe and supportive environment. The position is paid and offers valuable experience within a dynamic mental health setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual mental health needs, including administering medication and monitoring patient responses.
• Observe, record, and report on patients’ mental and physical health status, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Support patients through therapeutic activities and counselling sessions, fostering a safe and trusting environment.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.
• Assist in crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring patient safety at all times.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Maintain strict adherence to healthcare protocols, safety standards, and confidentiality regulations.

Skills

• Proven experience in patient care within a mental health or psychiatric setting.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to mental health nursing practices.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential qualities for this role.
• Organisational skills to manage multiple patients' needs efficiently while maintaining meticulous records.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $63.00 - $68.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
