Kleiman Evangelista is looking for a full time Ophthalmic Scribe at our Clinic, and we are willing to train!

What you will do…
- Document physician documentation in EMR
- Medically assist the doctor through the patient examination
- Document any procedures that may be performed by the physician or ophthalmic medical personnel
- Transcribe the history, examination, impression, plan, results of tests, prescriptions, and orders
- E-prescribe medications in EMR
- Measure pupil size and reactivity
- Corneal topography
- Fundus Photos
- Retinal nerve fiber layer measurement
- Retinal thickness and topography
- Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures and triage phone calls
- Prepare examination rooms to provide all needed medications, forms, educational materials, etc.
- Coordinate surgical needs with the surgical counselors
- Coordinate with check-in and check-out staff regarding patients
- Create and provide a positive, accountable, and inspired work environment
What we require…
- One year of ophthalmic scribe/technician experience in ophthalmology setting (or equivalent related ability) preferred
- COT or COA certification and Ophthalmology knowledge or Medical/ Ophthalmic Scribe experience desired
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in EMR and computer literacy
- Well organized and attentive to detail
