Pay Range:

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education and experience as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

ITS Treatment Specialist Summary: The Treatment Specialist, acting as part of a treatment team, organizes, implements, carries out and evaluates milieu treatment activities for assigned clients, ages 1st grade thru 12th grade that struggle to maintain in a traditional mainstream school environment due to significant emotional behaviors. Treatment Specialist assists in the development and implementation of client treatment plans and helps assess client progress toward meeting treatment goals. Treatment Specialists establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients which facilitate development, academic and personal growth. Treatment Specialists also carry out agency policies and procedures consistent with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

 ITS Treatment Specialist Responsibilities and Qualifications: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. • Under the supervision of the ISA Manager, the specialist plans and supervises and treatment related activities.
• Is responsible for maintaining behavioral control of the client group to which they are assigned. Must have immediate knowledge of the whereabouts, activities, and emotional state of every client in their treatment group throughout the program day.
• Is responsible for the safety and physical well-being of clients, including hygiene, during the treatment day. Carries out approved agency procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Is responsible for working with clients who struggle with emotional regulation that can cause hazardous working conditions due to the significant behaviors. 
• Responds to client crisis to maintain a safe environment and in accordance with safety, disaster, and emergency standards.
• Plans and implements recreational/therapeutic outings and field trips.
• Assists the Educational Specialists in maintaining structure by providing behavioral interventions and supervising classroom activities as assigned.
• Attends and actively participates in staff meetings, quarterly review meetings, staff training, and any other meetings assigned by supervisor.
• Assist with the transportation of clients during program day. Must have a valid Oregon License and meet agency standards for vehicle safety and insurance coverage.
• Meets with each assigned student on a weekly basis for counseling in therapist-approved subject areas, as well as for social skills training and general relationship-building activities: and what is needed for treatment goals. 
• Consistently uses therapeutic, non-punitive forms of discipline. Applies natural and logical consequences whenever possible.
• Therapists and Program manager as resources and consistently communicates to clinicians their concerns regarding the clients.
• Establishes and maintains professional relationships with agency co-workers.
• Establishes and maintains professional and cooperative relationships with other social services and educational agencies in the community.
• Consistently demonstrates professional work habits.
• All paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
• Is consistently attempting to enhance level of job knowledge through outside readings, workshops, in-service, and coursework where applicable.
• Upholds all ethical policies to which the agency subscribes.
• Complete and implement Behavior Support Plan with therapist of record.
• Carries out other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Will be certified the first 30 days of CPI training.

ITS Treatment Specialist Education: Must meet Oregon State (OARS) requirements and MHACBO certification as a "Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA)," meeting one of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field
• A combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience.

ITS Treatment Specialist Experience: Experience to demonstrate the competencies to identify precipitating events:

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• understand mental health assessment, treatment, and service terminology and apply each of these concepts.
• Implement skills development strategies, and identify, implement, and coordinate the services and support identified in an ISSP.
• Preferred experience: Previous experience working with adults diagnosed with mental illness or any disability group preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Oregon driver’s license, insurable driving record. Personal automobile insurance is required if clients are transported, or any agency business is conducted by the employee using his/her personal vehicle. Must meet the requirements to become MHACBO QMHA certified. Certification must be maintained for the length of employment.
