A/V Programmer

Your Impact
As an A/V Programmer, you will be responsible for the configuration, programming, and commissioning of commercial audio/visual systems across a wide range of environments, including healthcare, corporate, hospitality, and sports & entertainment venues. Your work will bring complex A/V systems to life—delivering seamless control and intuitive user experiences.
A Glimpse of What You’ll Do
- Program control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, QSC, Extron) based on system designs and client requirements
- Write and test code for user interfaces, signal routing, and device integration
- Perform final commissioning and troubleshooting of programmed systems on-site
- Collaborate with A/V Engineers and Installers to ensure smooth project execution
- Develop user-friendly GUI designs and custom control solutions
- Create and maintain documentation for system code, configurations, and device settings
- Participate in pre-install site surveys and coordination meetings
- Support the definition of installation and integration standards
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and end users
- Document system changes and updates during the integration process
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of control systems, software tools, and A/V protocols
- Ensure project completion within scope, budget, and timeline
- Maintain professionalism and sound judgment in fast-paced or high-pressure situations
What You Bring
- Team player who thrives in fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of A/V control systems and programming languages (e.g., SIMPL, Lua, Python, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret system schematics and signal flow diagrams
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills for A/V systems, networks, and devices
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- Manufacturer certifications such as Crestron Programmer, AMX Programmer, Extron Control Professional, or Q-SYS
- 2–4 years of experience in programming and commissioning A/V systems
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality user experience
Additional Information
- Full-time, days and hours of work may vary with flexibility for earlier or later hours based on the needs of the business
- Some weekend work may be required
- Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected
- 50% local travel is expected
