What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guardians Program Coordinator – Naujaat position at Kivalliq Inuit Association?
Help shape a new chapter in land stewardship across the Kivalliq! KIA is looking for a Guardians Program Coordinator to help bring this exciting new program to life in Naujaat. As part of the Guardians team, you’ll lead land based activities, support environmental monitoring, and work closely with Elders, youth, and community members. This role is hands on, meaningful, and rooted in Inuit knowledge.
This is an opportunity to make a real impact—protecting lands and waters, supporting cultural continuity, and helping build community resilience in a changing environment. You have strong land skills, practical hunting and fishing experience, and deep knowledge of local wildlife, waterways, and seasonal conditions. You’re comfortable operating ATVs, snowmobiles, boats, and navigation tools. You communicate well, stay calm under pressure, and bring good judgment to remote field work. A combination of local knowledge, hands on experience, and demonstrated competency will be considered.
