Director of Product Management
Reports to: VP of Marketing & Brand
About the Role:
The Director of Product Management is a strategic leader responsible for driving product vision, line strategy, category growth, and cross-functional execution across multiple brands. This player‑coach role combines leadership, consumer insight, commercial acumen, and operational discipline to deliver a high‑performing portfolio that meets consumer needs and retailer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and drive long‑term product strategy across categories and brand portfolios.
- Own annual line architecture, product roadmap, and category expansion plans.
- Lead consumer, category, and competitive insights to guide portfolio decision‑making.
- Drive portfolio-level financial performance including revenue, margin, and productivity targets.
- Establish category-level POV and retail/channel strategy for each line.
- Partner with Brand/Marketing to define messaging, claims hierarchy, and line-level positioning.
Product Lifecycle Management
- Oversee end‑to‑end product lifecycle from concept through commercialization and launch.
- Prioritize product development efforts based on strategic value, feasibility, and commercial impact.
- Lead SKU rationalization, pricing strategy, and margin improvement initiatives
- Own product governance, ensuring the right SKUs enter and exit the line at the right time.
- Guide cost engineering initiatives to improve margin without compromising consumer value.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Creative, and Operations to align GTM plans and deliver on launch readiness.
- Collaborate with Sourcing and Operations on costing, timelines, and supply chain needs.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop Product Managers and Product Operations team members.
- Implement standards, processes, and workflows that improve execution and clarity.
- Champion PLM capability development, tools, process improvements, and scalable best practices.
Business Performance
- Analyze category performance, retailer trends, and SKU productivity to guide planning.
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and business cases for new opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in consumer product development or product management.
- Strong strategic leadership, business acumen, and cross-functional influence.
