Licensed Veterinary Technician

Kitsap Veterinary Hospital is seeking to add a part-time technician / nurse to our team–and we do truly operate as a team. We practice high quality medicine that relies on the collaborative efforts of all members where everyone is valued.

We aim to keep fostering a love of veterinary medicine–or re-spark your love for it if it's begun to dwindle or even if its faded away. We love taking moments to get nerdy about our profession, pass around abscess videos, ogle over toe beans, and celebrate that tricky blood draw. Oh, and if you enjoy some good (and bad) puns-- ur-ine luck!

• Currently canine/feline only, but hope to include exotic companion animals one day

• Mix of long term established clientele and new. We value the relationships we build with our patients and clients.

• Digital radiographs, high end ultrasound, in house blood machines, ultrasonic dental scaler, digital dental radiographs, cold therapy laser, surgical theater, dental suite, large treatment areas, separate cat and dog wards, regular use of visiting cardiologist, radiologist and specialty surgeon for additional diagnostics, and more.

• Flexible scheduling–but we do try and cover for each other when ill or on vacations- doctors included, also cover for each other

• Maximize your skills and assets by having a good ratio of trained assistants to work alongside

• Mix of being on the floor with appointments and possibly hospitalized patients with a ratio of 2-3 designated assistants and of being a surgical tech/nurse with one designated assistant

• Surgery load includes mix of soft tissue surgeries and dental/oral surgeries

Schedule: Two - 10 hour shifts / week

Experience: Veterinary Medicine: 2 years (Preferred)

License: Veterinary Technician License (Required)
