- **Ensure** the daily cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of 23 County facilities, including the Main County Campus, Sheriff's precincts, Juvenile Detention, Coroner's Offices, and other community-facing buildings with heavy public traffic.
- **Operate and maintain** professional-grade custodial equipment---including auto scrubbers, buffers, extractors, industrial vacuums, and floor machines---to preserve flooring systems and extend surface life across high-use environments.
- **Execute** routine and repetitive custodial tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating accountability for assigned buildings, equipment, and security procedures.
- **Maintain** interior public and staff spaces such as offices, lobbies, hallways, restrooms, stairwells, and entrances through systematic cleaning, disinfecting, and floor care practices.
- **Lead by example** in safe chemical handling and strict PPE compliance, ensuring adherence to County safety standards while working around machinery, chemicals, and biohazards.
- **Perform** advanced floor care services including stripping, waxing, polishing, scrubbing tile and grout, and carpet extraction to County specifications.
- **Support facility operations** by replenishing restroom and sanitation supplies, removing trash and recycling, and maintaining kitchens and common-use areas.
- **Protect** facility security by securing doors and windows and working responsibly in sensitive locations such as the Jail and Coroner's Office.
- **Identify and report** building maintenance issues, safety hazards, and equipment or supply needs to supervisors to support proactive facility management.
- **Navigate** multiple work sites and shifts, including indoor and outdoor assignments, while operating County-owned vehicles in compliance with the Kitsap County Vehicle Use Policy.
- **Valid Washington State Driver's License (required prior to hire)** with a satisfactory driving record, enabling operation of County-owned vehicles across multiple facilities.
- **Eligibility for extensive criminal background screening and fingerprinting**, required due to unsupervised access to minors, vulnerable adults, and secured County facilities.
- **Six (6) months of general custodial experience**, providing foundational knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment use, and workplace safety.
