Location: Chico, CA (office) with regular field time across Northern California Type: Full-time Compensation: Base aggressive commission on new accounts (structure finalized with the right candidate — this role is built for a closer who wants real upside)

Who We Are

Kite Solutions is a Northern California heavy-hauling and spoils management company. We run Super 10 dump trucks, end dumps, a Landoll trailer, lowbeds, and vac tankers — moving aggregate, equipment, and wet spoils for utility contractors, GCs, and public agencies across the region. We are financially strong, profitable, and trusted by our existing customers. Our next chapter is growth.

Why This Role Exists

We have a 2026 plan to grow by 1.5 million annual revenue by diversifying beyond our largest customer into new verticals where demand is strong and competition is thin. The plan is written. The trucks are running. What we need now is a Business Development Representative who can walk it into the market.

This is not a seat behind a desk cold-emailing from a list. It is a relationship-driven, field-first role where you will be the face of Kite Solutions to new customers in aggregate hauling, equipment transport, and wet spoils / vac tanker work.

What You'll Do
  • Open new accounts in three service lines: aggregate hauling, equipment transport (Landoll and lowbed), and wet spoils / vac tanker
  • Visit local branches of United Rentals, Sunbelt, and BlueLine with a rate sheet and insurance cert; build relationships with branch managers who make hauling decisions
  • Call dispatch managers at Vulcan Materials, Granite Rock, and Martin Marietta; get Kite onto their preferred hauler lists
  • Pursue horizontal directional drilling (HDD) subcontractors and water districts (SCWA, SMUD, Yuba Water Agency, Reclamation Districts) for wet spoils and vac tanker work
  • Register Kite with Caltrans and California DGS (CaleProcure), and track bid opportunities through iSqFt and BuildingConnected
  • Represent Kite at NUCA NorCal chapter meetings and industry events in the Sacramento area
  • Work with ownership to prioritize high-leverage targets: general contractors, utility contractors, solar/wind farm GCs, environmental remediation GCs, municipalities, and agricultural equipment dealers
  • Qualify inbound leads from our website (new service pages and quote forms are being added this quarter) and convert them to booked work
  • Partner with dispatch and operations to make sure every new relationship turns into repeat loads
Who You Are
  • 2 years of sales experience in construction, trucking, heavy civil, aggregates, equipment rental, or a related industry — or strong B2B sales experience with a real willingness to learn our business
  • Comfortable walking into a rental branch or GC office without an appointment and leaving with a contact and a next step
  • Understands (or can learn quickly) the language of payload capacity, oversize permits, NAICS codes, manifested spoils, and CDL endorsements
  • Organized enough to manage a pipeline across dozens of accounts without losing track of follow-ups
  • A closer — not a pitch person. You measure yourself by new revenue, not activity
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Chico / Sacramento Valley area; clean driving record
  • Self-directed, honest, and the kind of person general contractors and dispatch managers want to keep picking up the phone for
