What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook/ Prep Cook position at Kitchen Istanbul?
Kitchen Istanbul is looking for a dependable and hardworking Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. We're a busy neighborhood restaurant with many regular guests, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and values being part of a supportive team.
This role combines both prep and line cooking responsibilities. You'll work closely with Chef Busra Ayvaz, helping prepare ingredients, maintain your station, and execute dishes during dinner service. Everyone on our team helps wherever needed, so we're looking for someone with a positive attitude who is willing to jump in and support the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep lists
- Set up and maintain mise en place for service
- Cook and plate dishes accurately and consistently during dinner service
- Follow recipes and portion standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
- Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking, and kitchen organization
- Support fellow cooks and help with all kitchen duties as needed
Candidate Qualifications:
- Prior kitchen experience
- Ingredient knowledge and a willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Weekend evening availability (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Compensation
- $23.00 per hour tips
- Weekly tips vary depending on restaurant volume
