Job Summary:
Kisling, Nestico & Redick seeks a probate attorney to join our personal injury team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills. You will manage probate matters related to personal injury cases, including estate administration, guardianship, and settlement approvals.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee probate proceedings for clients involved in personal injury cases.
- Advise clients and families on estate administration, guardianships, and settlement distributions.
- Prepare and file probate documents, including petitions, inventories, and accountings.
- Coordinate with personal injury attorneys to ensure timely resolution of probate matters.
- Represent clients in probate court hearings and settlement approval proceedings.
- Communication with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties regarding probate issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all probate cases.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal probate laws and regulations.
- Provide compassionate guidance to clients during emotionally challenging times.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of Ohio probate law and procedures.
- Experience handling probate matters related to personal injury settlements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Must posses a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency with legal research and case management software.
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active Ohio Bar license.
- 2 years of probate law experience preferred; personal injury experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Moderated temperature; office environment
- Occasional requirement to lift a minimum of twenty (20) pounds
- Bending at waist level for files, and accessing needed items
- Exposure to computer screens and telephones
- Low to moderate noise level within this setting
