Cost Accountant
Kirk Gross Company | Full-Time
Kirk Gross Company is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. This position combines construction job costing with general accounting responsibilities and works closely with Accounting Team and Project Managers to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Responsibilities
- Maintain job cost records and monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability.
- Review invoices and expenses for accurate project and cost-code allocation.
- Assist with WIP reporting, project billings, change orders, and retainage.
- Work with project managers to review costs, projections, and variances.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Support month-end and year-end closing.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and other accounting duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Accounting degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
- Construction or job-cost accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across departments.
