Superintendent, Commercial Construction
Troy, MI | Full-time
KIRCO MANIX Construction
Build What Matters. Lead with Excellence.
KIRCO MANIX is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent who takes pride in leading people and projects the right way — with quality, integrity, and collaboration at the core.
As a family-owned company with deep roots in Michigan, we’re known for our hands-on leadership and lasting client relationships across healthcare, office, light industrial, and mixed-use construction. If you’re a detail-driven leader who thrives in dynamic environments and believes that success comes from doing things the right way — this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Position Purpose
The Project Superintendent serves as the on-site leader and primary representative for KIRCO MANIX Construction, driving excellence in quality, schedule, and budget. You’ll coordinate every aspect of the field — from pre-construction planning to close-out — ensuring safety, collaboration, and craftsmanship every step of the way.
What You’ll Do
Pre-Construction
- Partner with the Project Manager during design, due diligence, and entitlement stages.
- Support budgeting, scheduling, and permit processes.
- Lead site planning, logistics, temporary utilities, and construction plant setup.
- Oversee installation of company and safety signage to ensure a professional and compliant worksite.
Construction Leadership
- Manage all field operations — coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors to achieve top-tier results.
- Maintain deep familiarity with plans, specs, and submittals; review and approve shop drawings and samples.
- Lead site meetings, daily reporting, progress documentation, and photo tracking in Procore.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety standards — act as the on-site Safety Officer.
- Drive proactive communication between field and office to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Oversee the punch list and close-out processes to deliver outstanding results to the client.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- 15–20 years of commercial construction experience, including sitework, office, industrial, and retail.
- Deep knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and cost control.
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and general office software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proven ability to foster teamwork and uphold safety and quality standards.
- Procore certification (or willingness to complete upon hire).
Who You Are
- A natural leader who inspires trust and accountability.
- A relationship-builder who values collaboration over competition.
- A professional who takes pride in craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
- Someone who shares KIRCO’s founding principles: integrity, creativity, family, and excellence.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk large project sites daily, climb, stoop, or balance as needed.
- Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
