KIRCO is seeking an experienced Safety Director to lead and advance our company-wide safety program. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong culture of safety across our construction operations while partnering closely with project teams, field leadership, subcontractors, and senior management.

We are looking for a hands-on safety leader who understands the realities of active construction environments and can balance compliance, accountability, education, and relationship-building. The ideal candidate will be comfortable both in the field and working strategically with leadership to continuously improve our safety practices.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, manage, and continuously improve KIRCO MANIX's overall construction safety program.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture across jobsites and throughout the organization.

  • Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.

  • Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.

  • Develop, update, and administer company safety policies, procedures, programs, and training.

  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, training programs, and other safety-related initiatives.

  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and safety concerns; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, documentation, and required regulatory filings.

  • Monitor safety performance and trends and provide recommendations to leadership for continuous improvement.

  • Work collaboratively with subcontractors and trade partners to ensure compliance with project and company safety expectations.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable safety resource for employees and leadership throughout the organization.

  • Stay current on evolving safety regulations, industry standards, and construction safety best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience in construction safety, preferably supporting commercial construction projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.

  • Experience leading or managing safety programs across multiple projects or jobsites.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct jobsite inspections, investigations, safety training, and risk assessments.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others and hold teams accountable while maintaining productive working relationships.

  • Excellent communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability and willingness to regularly visit active construction sites and travel as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

  • OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred.

  • Professional safety certifications such as CSP, CHST, ASP, or similar credentials are preferred.

The Right Fit

Beyond technical safety expertise, we're looking for someone who can build trust and credibility in the field. Our Safety Director should be visible, approachable, proactive, and comfortable working directly with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and leadership.

The successful candidate will understand that a strong safety program is about more than compliance. It's about creating an environment where people take ownership of safety, communicate concerns, and look out for one another.
