Scope of Work:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide operations and maintenance support through the performance ofcarpentryduties.Work involves construction, alterations and repair of structural framework, wooden or manufactured material components of structures such as roofing, doors, windows, staircases, paneling, ceilings and interior and exterior trim.
Responsibilities:
- Performs carpentry services include, but are not limited to, the design, construction, installation and repair of wooden fixtures and structures such as cabinets, furniture, shelving, doors,
- plaques, and other custom wood products.
- Other duties include, but are not limited to, framing and finish work, painting, staining, etc.
- Monitors subcontractor performance as assigned, conducts jobsite troubleshooting and performs primary project layout and production.
- Plans and lays out work using blueprints, workordersand shop drawings.
- Determinesmaterials, supplies and toolsrequiredfor work specified.
- Performs precision measuring,cuttingand fitting for closely joined materials to provide structurally sound units, weather-tightopeningsand desired finished appearance.
- Fabricates and installs fixtures such as cabinets,bookshelvesand other types of wooden utility components of offices,shopsand industrial facilities.
- Coordinates, as required, with other trades to ensure proper sequence of work in relation to overall plans, blueprints, workordersand schedules.
- May provide guidance andassistancetolower levelworkers, whenrequired, on complicated projects or situations.
- performing a variety of carpentry duties as assigned.
- Consistently produces quality products andservice.
- Completes all training within the required timeline.
- Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years related experience.
- Ability to safely set-up and operate common and special purpose power equipment and hand tools used in the trade shop or at work sites.
- Knowledge of advance shop mathematics to plan and execute complex and exact projects.
- Ability to estimate time and materials from blueprints, shop drawings and work orders.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Musthold andmaintaina Tier 3 (Secret Clearance) or Tier5background check(Top Secret / SCI Clearance),asrequiredfor the position.
- Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
