Environmental Engineer

Kinze's Environmental Engineer will be responsible for all environmental compliance - including air, drinking water, wastewater, and waste permits and compliance.

• Ensure compliance with IDNR, EPA, and City, State and Federal Laws.
• Maintain Drinking Water Permit, Storm Water Permit, Wastewater and Air Permit.
• Complete Tier 2 and TRI reports as required.
• Ensure proper signage and storage for all generated waste.
• Keep track of generated waste (record keeping of hazardous or non-hazardous wastes).
• Ensure all generated waste is being properly removed and controlled.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheet tracking system up to date, including physical binders in the plant.
• Provide Material Handlers with annual chemical and waste handling training.
• Maintain indoor air quality and conduct annual air monitoring.
• Ensure all emissions points are well marked and maintained.
• Ensure water levels logs are maintained.
• Ensure water testing is conducted as required by the water permits.
• Create and maintain recycling program.
• Ensure Generator logs are being completed and logged.
• Ensure Paint logs are being completed and logged.
• Ensure new chemicals are pre-approved before being purchased.
• Provide employees with Hazard Communication and Globalized Harmonized Safety Training.
• Assist safety with injury, drug testing or DOT appointments.
• Complete minor emissions inventory.
• Assist with other misc. projects and events as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering. Environmental experience in a manufacturing site is preferred.
• Knowledge of IDNR and EPA permit requirements and must possess a Grade A water certification within six months.
• 3 years of EHS experience
