About the Position
This is a highly trusted role with one of Kintara's clients, a growing, venture-backed energy technology company developing next-generation power systems. They are a small, fast-moving team focused on bringing reliable, affordable, lower-carbon power to scale.
The Bookkeeper/Office Manager will be responsible for owning day-to-day bookkeeping operations while helping support the structure and organization needed in a fast-growing technology company. You will manage the company’s financial records, ensure accurate reporting, and help create scalable processes as the organization continues to grow.
This role is first and foremost focused on bookkeeping but offers the opportunity to expand into broader office management responsibilities for someone who enjoys variety and wants to have a larger impact across the business.
The ideal person is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Operations
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and expense tracking
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure information is organized and up to date
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and financial transactions regularly
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
- Process or coordinate payroll activities
- Prepare monthly financial summaries and reporting for company leadership
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and maintaining financial visibility
- Manage vendor payments, vendor information, and employee reimbursements
- Partner with external accounting resources during tax preparation and financial reviews
- Maintain QuickBooks and other financial systems to ensure accurate company records
- Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes as the company scales
Office Operations (Preferred but Not Required)
- Support daily office operations to ensure the workplace runs smoothly
- Welcome visitors, guests, and team members as needed
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, mail, and deliveries
- Manage office supplies, purchasing, and general workplace needs
- Support meeting logistics, company events, and team coordination
- Assist with additional operational projects as business needs evolve

Experience Requirements
- 5 years of bookkeeping, accounting support, or related financial operations experience
- Strong experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong computer skills and ability to manage financial data accurately
- Experience working with external accountants, vendors, and internal business partners
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and organization
- Comfortable working in a small-company environment where responsibilities may evolve over time

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
