Kinney Lane Foods is a rapidly growing prepared foods company serving Fairfield County through meal delivery, retail, and catering. We're looking for a dependable, hardworking Kitchen Porter to help keep our kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently.
This role is the backbone of our kitchen operations. Beyond dishwashing, you'll help maintain our facility, support the culinary team, and ensure everything is in place for successful daily production.
Responsibilities
Wash dishes, cookware, sheet pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dish area
Sweep, mop, and clean kitchen floors throughout the day
Take out trash, recycling, and compost
Receive, unload, and put away deliveries
Organize walk-ins, freezers, dry storage, and packaging areas
Break down boxes and keep storage areas clean and orderly
Refill cleaning supplies, paper goods, and sanitation stations
Assist with end-of-day kitchen cleaning and closing procedures
Clean equipment, shelving, prep tables, and storage racks
Help transport ingredients and supplies throughout the facility
Assist with inventory organization and stock rotation
Support the production team with basic prep tasks as needed
Help pack and stage customer orders during busy periods
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
Qualifications
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
Previous kitchen, porter, warehouse, or dishwashing experience is a plus, but not required
