ABOUT THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER POSITION
This is a high-impact role within a growing firm, with visibility across clients, operations, and team development. We are seeking to hire an accounting manager. The successful candidate is hard-working, ready to roll up their sleeves, contribute across all areas of the business, and step into a leadership role across client engagements and team development. We are looking for someone able to execute wide-ranging tasks and projects. This position will be managing several client accounts from top to bottom which will involve frequent client interaction and quarterbacking the client relationship from bookkeeping to high-stakes presentations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both executing high-quality client work and developing others as the firm continues to scale.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
· Train, mentor, and develop junior staff through day-to-day coaching, review feedback, and real-time problem solving
· Review staff work and provide clear, actionable feedback to support technical growth and consistency across client deliverables
· Support onboarding and skill development of new hires, helping them ramp quickly into Kinline’s processes and client service expectations
· Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency and elevate overall team capability through process improvements and knowledge sharing
· Model Kinline’s client service standards and help reinforce a high-performance, accountable team culture
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
· Prepare and present reporting packages for clients and collaborating with management on trend and budget analysis
· Coordinating month-end close timelines and implementing month-end close processes
· Reconciling account activity and maintaining month-end workpapers to track account balances, underlying items within the account, journal entries, etc.
· Chart of account maintenance and design for new and existing firm clients
· Annual 1099 reporting and periodic vendor maintenance
· Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, proactively addressing questions and driving solutions
· Lead and support client advisory projects such as accounting standard implementation, accounting clean-up projects, etc.
· Oversee and perform transaction coding and reconciliations ensuring accuracy and consistency
· Manage and execute core client accounting functions, including AP, payroll coordination, and expense management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across client accounts
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting or similar field
· CPA or CPA candidate is a strong plus
· 6 years of experience in accounting
· Client service experience and strong communication skills
· Deep knowledge of accounting, financial statements, internal controls and professional standards (GAAP, GAAS, etc.)
· Highly motivated and ability to work autonomously
· Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn new systems
· Experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify, and Gusto are a plus
