Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to our optometrists and deliver outstanding care to our patients. This role involves a mix of patient interaction, technical skills, and administrative tasks. Must be willing to travel between our Centerville and Sandy locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for eye exams, obtaining medical history and other relevant information.
- Perform preliminary tests, including color vision, stereo, autorefraction, and lensometry.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide patient education on lens care.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, such as retinal camera and corneal topographer.
- Support the optometrist during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean and properly maintained.
- Process patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist with administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and answering patient inquiries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience as an optometric or medical technician is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
