The Clinic Medical Assistant assists with direct patient care activities under the direction of the LPN, RN, Nurse Practitioner, or Staff Physician. Responsibilities include assisting with patient rooming, medical procedures, and diagnostic testing as appropriate to the employee’s level of training and competency. The Clinic Medical Assistant also performs clerical, administrative, and other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Experience
- One year of work experience in a specialty field, preferably in a medical office setting, preferred.
- Prior laboratory experience is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Certification
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Special Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to operate computers and standard office equipment.
- Demonstrates excellent reading, written, and verbal communication skills.
