What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic RN PRN - KDMC Jackson Heart Clinic position at KINGS DAUGHTERS MEDICAL CENTER?
Provides professional nursing care to an assigned patient population in accordance with established standards of practice, medical center policies, and procedures.
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining health histories and conducting physical assessments.
- Administers and documents prescribed medications, treatments, and procedures accurately and timely.
- Assists physicians and other healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, diagnostic tests, and specialized procedures.
- Monitors patient conditions, reports significant changes, and implements appropriate nursing interventions.
- Maintains accurate and complete patient records, collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans, and provides patient and family education to promote optimal health outcomes while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
EDUCATION
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
- Current Mississippi RN licensure.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and write the English language.
- Demonstrates proficiency of required skills as outlined on competency checklists.
- Must successfully pass a written pharmacology examination.
- Maintains good physical and emotional health.
- Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of communication channels.
- Ability to remain calm and function effectively under stressful situations.
- Demonstrates flexibility and cooperation with rotation of shifts and/or assigned duty areas.
- Promotes positive interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships.
