Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each pet’s breed and individual needs
- Handle animals with patience and confidence, ensuring their comfort and safety during grooming procedures
- Restrain animals safely using proper techniques to facilitate grooming while minimizing stress or discomfort
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of grooming stations and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, aftercare instructions, and pet behavior
- Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training, animal restraint, and basic pet care when needed
- Support team efforts by participating in kennel cleaning, animal handling, and light veterinary assistance tasks when required
Experience
- Previous experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures enhances your ability to care for pets effectively
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles provides valuable insight into animal health and safety protocols
- Experience working with diverse animals including dogs, cats is a plus
- Strong customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and ensure a positive experience
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy pets or equipment
- Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background demonstrates your commitment to animal welfare
