Job Summary
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, provide tutoring and/or homework assistance, offer an array of academic enrichment activities, and organize safe, constructive alternatives for students. Tutors work responsibly to perform a variety of instructional services and clerical support activities within a well-defined framework of policies, procedures and objectives; and do other related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
Expanded Learning Tutor I = no degree; II = AA or AS degree; III = BA or BS degree. Equivalent to graduation from high school and/or any combination of experience and training to provide the required knowledge and skill. An AA degree, or 2 years equivalence of acceptable college coursework, or successful passage of an acceptable rigorous assessment is highly preferred. Must pass an Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test with a score of 70% or higher in the areas of Math, Reading and Writing, or provide High School Proficiency verification; Possess a valid California driver license and maintain insurability. Must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to work sites within Kings County. Documents All of the following documents are required for this position: Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (One-to-three letters of recommendation, at least one from within the past year.)
