Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate child development principles, literacy education, and Montessori methods where applicable.
- Lead daily classroom activities focused on toddler care, early intervention strategies, behavior management, and physical development exercises.
- Manage classroom environment to ensure safety, cleanliness, and an engaging space conducive to learning and exploration.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any behavioral or developmental concerns.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality childcare and educational experiences.
- Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress using child welfare best practices and adapt lesson plans accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of incidents, observations, and progress reports.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development in early childhood education topics such as special education, math fundamentals for young children, physical education activities, and classroom management techniques.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting, specifically with toddlers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development stages, behavior management strategies, and early intervention techniques.
- Prior experience developing curriculum plans that include literacy education, math fundamentals, physical activity, and Montessori-inspired activities.
- Familiarity with classroom management practices that promote positive behavior and social-emotional learning.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in special education or early childhood education are preferred.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is essential for ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
