Position Overview
The Corporate Development Associate, Investments will be a key member of the firm’s Investments and Corporate Development team, based in New York City. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of corporate strategy, M&A, and private capital deployment within the energy infrastructure sector. The Associate will support the evaluation, execution, and management of investment opportunities—including acquisitions, joint ventures, project developments, and partnerships—across the energy, chemicals, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Execution & Analysis:
- Support all aspects of transaction execution, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and preparation of investment committee materials.
- Market Research & Strategy:
- Conduct industry and market research to identify new investment themes, growth opportunities, and potential strategic partnerships across the energy infrastructure value chain.
- Financial Modeling & Valuation:
- Build and maintain detailed financial and operational models for potential transactions and portfolio companies.
- Due Diligence Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors (legal, technical, financial, tax, etc.) to manage the diligence process.
- Portfolio Management:
- Monitor and analyze performance of existing portfolio investments and support ongoing strategic and financial initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior leadership, finance, and operations teams to support capital allocation decisions and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline. MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- 1.5 – 4 years of professional experience in investment banking and/or private equity, ideally within energy, chemicals, or industrials sectors.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and transaction structuring.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
