We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring that all areas are well-kept and presentable. This role is vital in creating a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and visitors. The Janitor will perform a variety of cleaning tasks, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
- Handle waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained
- Assist with custodial duties in commercial and residential settings as needed
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to management
- Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored
Experience
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment
- Experience in floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning standards is a plus
- Prior experience as a porter or in facilities maintenance is advantageous
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
