Role Description
Divisional Controller is responsible for the management of business unit specific finance functions to enable timely and accurate financial reporting and to provide support to the business unit operational leaders as well the Corporate Controller. A particular emphasis on cost management, budgeting and forecasting as well as the implementation and enforcement of appropriate internal controls. Responsibility for the overall accounting functions at the designated business unit.
What to Expect in the Role:
· Prepare and review monthly accounting entries and account reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close and reporting
· Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including variance analysis and cash flow reporting
· Analyze financial results and key performance indicators across product lines to support operational decision-making
· Communicate financial results and insights to operations as well as executive leadership
· Maintain and enhance internal control environment to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with company policies
· Manage accounts receivable processes, including monitoring aging and supporting collections
· Review and approve expenditures, including capital expenditures, ensuring compliance with company policies, approved budgets, and agricultural exemption guidelines
· Monitor inventory accounting processes including reviewing cycle counts to ensure accurate balances
· Prepare annual financial plan and ongoing forecasting in partnership with operational stakeholders
· Support audit process including internal, external, and sales tax audits
· Supervise and manage accounting support staff
Qualifications
· The individual should be a self-starter, detail oriented and organized.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization and with outside contacts.
· Minimum 5 years accounting experience.
· Require previous experience managing various accounting functions
· CPA is a plus.
· JD Edwards experience is a plus.
· Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of utilizing Microsoft Word programs.
· Prefer proficiency or familiarity with an JD Edwards accounting environment.
· Require minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree is a plus
· Must be able to work on-site in Kingsville, TX
