Site Safety & Health Officer, Level 1

Position Title: Site Safety & Health Officer, Level 1 (L1 SSHO)

Area of Requirement: Fort Carson, Colorado (Colorado Springs)

Scope of Position:

The Site Safety and Health Officer manages the KG's Safety and Health Program for all operations and maintenance activities performed under the contract. The SSHO develops, implements, and administers the Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analyses, and site-specific safety procedures while ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, DHA, and MTF safety requirements. The SSHO serves as the KG's primary safety representative and oversees safety performance for both KG and subcontractor personnel.

Tasks and Capabilities Required:

· Administer KG Safety Program

· Implement Accident Prevention Plan

· Coordinate Activity Hazard Analyses

· Monitor KG safety compliance

· Conduct workplace safety inspections

· Investigate accidents and near misses

· Lead monthly safety meetings

· Maintain safety documentation

· Coordinate safety training

· Monitor subcontractor compliance

· Support OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and MTF inspections

· Maintain EMR and DART records

· Ensure Alternate/secondary SSHO coverage

Mandatory Experience and Certifications:

· OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification

· Minimum 5 years continuous safety management experience

· Eight (8) hours of documented safety training annually for the previous five years

· Experience supervising safety programs within O&M, industrial, or construction environments

· Knowledge of EM 385-1-1

· Experience conducting hazard analyses and implementing controls

Preferred/Desired Certifications:

· Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

· Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
