Job Title: BOS General Maintenance Worker
Department: Base Operations & Maintenance
Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5am - 5pm (must be available for on call response)
Job Summary:
Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and general knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors

Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings

Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets
-
Paint structures and equipment

Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
-
Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles
-
Hangs doors and installs door locks and replaces broken windowpanes

Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

At least two years related experience required

Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment

Experience hanging doors, installing door locks, and replacing broken windowpanes preferred

Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor, or other craftsmen
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands

Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to load noises
-
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times
-
Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands as necessary

Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels

Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
